Welcome to Green Mountain Fibers & Yarn

Central Vermont's premiere yarn shop for all of your knitting, spinning, and crocheting needs, conveniently located on Route 4 East, also known as Woodstock Avenue. We're about 1 mile east of Rt. 4 & Rt. 7 intersection and just east of Applebees.

Great Northern Yarn Haul

From July 8th to July 17th, we are participating in the Great Northern Yarn Haul with 15 other local yarn shops. f you wish to start your yarn travels with us, stop by beginning Friday, July 8th and receive a tote bag/passport for a $20 purchase. We have 20 tote bags to hand out to our first 20 "Yarn Haulers." The passport lists all 16 participating shops in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. Traveling the northeast to visit 16 yarn shops sounds like a dream to me! However, the only thing I'll be driving is my computer. If you're lucky enough to visit any of the participating shops, you'll receive a Goodie Bag and stamp on your passport. There's a grand prize drawing that will be given away to one lucky "Hauler" who returns the passport to Love.Yarn.Shop by July 31st.

Specializing in luxury yarns, natural fibers, quality hand-knitting supplies, and accessories. Also featuring locally spun and dyed yarns from area fiber farms.

Stop by to see what's new and what's cool... as in groovy!

We received a shipment of spring fibers, including KFI 100% luxury silk in new colors and Juniper Moon Farms Neve 100% cotton worsted weight yarn from Peru - in colors to complement your spring and summer wardrobe. I started the "Summer Scarf" (shown on right) by Melissa Leapman - a free pattern on Ravelry and left it in the shop. It's just about 10" long so far (another UFO) but enough to see the pattern and stitch definition.

Also new is Ella Rae superwash merino in DK weight.

Meet Louisa, our Green Mountain Fibers mascot. She's an Akita/Border Collie mix on the lookout for a sheep to herd.

Always be sure to SHOP your LOCAL yarn store!

Also check out our wide assortment of Local products - hand-spun, hand-dyed, locally grown wool, mohair, and alpaca brought to you from area fiber farms and independent dyers.

Check out our Classes & Events page for upcoming opportunities.
