Meet Louisa, our Green Mountain Fibers mascot. She's an Akita/Border Collie mix on the lookout for a sheep to herd.

Even if you are someone who typically trades spades and shovels for knitting needles when summer arrives, there are some great summer projects. And, it's a really good time to be thinking about Christmas if you'd like
to have a closet full of handmade gifts for loved ones. Laura Nelkin's Knockout Knits is perfect for small gift ideas. From jewelery to fingerless mitts, shawls to scarves, her designs are elegant yet often simple - like the mitts on the book cover (available in the book or in a kit) including pattern, yarn, and beads or the Cambio Cowl kit that knits up beautifully! Why not consider an afghan project knit in squares. The log cabin quilt made with various shades of Noro Kureyon is an excellent carry-along project for summer. Knit a square at a time through the warm weather and when winter arrives, pile them all on your lap for joining with a simple 3-needle bind off or kitchener. There is also the Great American Afghan book with 24 glorious squares, great for warm weather knitting. We also have a new supply of Risoni 100% Silk in six glorioius colors. Simple garter stitch makes this "slubby" yarn just sing. See the two samples below: purple shawl and white beaded cowl, both simple garter stitch!
