Recently you may have heard a rumor that the shop is closing. For a few days, after Kathleen made an announcement that the shop would close in May, it did appear that would be the case. However, as fate would have it, a local knitter (and a customer of the shop since it opened) happened to go in to the shop that day and heard the news, and the thought that “this shop can’t close” took hold and would not let go. Amanda and Kathleen got together and discussed the options, and made a plan to transition ownership of the shop to Amanda in May.
So the rumor is false!
Amanda will officially begin running the shop on May 1, though she’s there pretty much daily now, as she learns the ropes. Or… the yarn? Kathleen has very graciously agreed to continue to work with Amanda to make sure things go as smoothly as possible during the transition. Now Kathleen will have a chance to “sit ‘n’ knit” and enjoy the community of fiber enthusiasts that has come together over the years in this warm and inviting space.
To celebrate, we are hosting a “hello and goodbye” celebration on the weekend of April 28 and 29. Stop in to the shop to meet Amanda and say thank you and farewell to Kathleen, and enjoy some light refreshments and fiber goodness. We look forward to seeing you!
