Covid-19 Shop Update

We all need our yarn during this time

Green Mountain Yarn and Fiber will remain open during our normal business hours to serve our customers unless we are ordered to close. However, I recognize that some of our customers are in a higher risk demographic, and I want everyone to stay healthy.  To that end, I have created a few additional ways for you to be able to make purchases to allow you to stay socially distant but still get your yarn, and whatever else you may need for your projects.  As one customer pointed out: "if I have to stay home, I have to have my knitting!"

  • I have added a free local delivery option as a shipping option
  • I have added a pick up at store option as a shipping option
  • We ship all over the US!

For local delivery:  choose this option during checkout when you place your order online.  Local delivery will be available during most of our normal business hours.  Are you unsure if you're considered local?  Send us an email.

For picking up yarn at the shop:  choose this option during checkout when you place your order online.  If you let us know when you'll be by (during normal business hours) and any helpful identifying information ("I'll be in a blue Honda minivan") we can run your yarn out to your car if you prefer not to come into the shop.

Normally speaking, shopping at Green Mountain Yarn and Fiber is already a fairly socially distant experience - it's not typical to have large crowds in the shop.  We are still offering sit-n-knit since our gatherings are well within the current recommendations for public gathering.  If you're ill or concerned about being ill, please follow all the obvious recommendations for protecting yourself and others.

Class offerings will be held at the discretion of the instructor.  So far, the only classes that have been postponed are Learn to Knit and Learn to Crochet that were scheduled to take place this evening, 3/19 at 6 pm.  If you are registered for those classes, you may attend a later session.

If you are currently signed up for a class but do not want to attend because you are practicing social-distancing, you may postpone your registration to a future class.  Nothing (beyond what was noted above) is cancelled at this time.  If, in the future, we decide to cancel a class and we have your contact information, we will let you know.

Thank you for supporting your local yarn shop.  Wash your hands and stay healthy!
