Tuesday, February 5th – Unwind: Yoga for Knitters and Crocheters 6-7 PM
Join Stephanie for this yoga class aimed at knitters and crocheters (as well as other fiber artists). We will breathe, release our shoulders and necks, energize our hands, and let go of overall tension. We will be using a chair, so this class is appropriate for all bodies and levels.

Thursday, February 7th—Learn to Crochet 3-4:30 PM
Join Mary to learn how to crochet! This class is for complete newbies to crocheting. Participants will begin a simple crochet project in the class to learn basic stitches, terminology, and pattern reading. The cost will be $20 per person. Participants will receive 10% off supplies purchased the day of the class.

Friday, February 8th—Improv Sweater Kick-Off 4-8 PM
Want to knit the Improv Sweater from Fringe Association? If you’d like to learn how to knit to fit, the Improv is a great one to start with. It’s knit from the top down and is seamless. There will be a lot of flexibility (you’re knitting with no pattern, just a plan!) and you’ll learn a lot. Knit along help and guidance will be available during Sit ‘n’ Knit on Fridays each week. Sunday, February 10th—Knitting Workshop: Beyond the Basics—Socks 1-3 PM
Learn to make socks with Nancy Livak! Nancy will be teaching how to knit socks on DPNs from the top-down with a heel flap. You will be making the socks pictured so you can get learn the entire process! Participants will need the following materials: worsted weight yarn, size 8 (or whatever needles needed for a gauge of 5 stitches per inch and 6 stitches per row) DPNs, a stitch marker, a ruler or tape measure, and a tapestry needle for grafting the toe. The fee for the class is $25.

Saturday, February 16th—Learn to Spin 1-3 PM
Join Marilyn Brandner, of Mount Nickwackett Sheep Farm, to learn how to spin your own yarn. Spinning wheels and supplies will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own wheel if you have one. Class is limited to 3 students, so there will be plenty of individualized attention. Cost is $40 and includes all materials.

Sunday, February 17th—Needlefelting—2-D Still Life 1-3 PM
Join Brittany Charles to learn the art of needlefelting as you create a two-dimensional piece. Fee is $25, and includes all materials. Participants will receive 10% off supplies purchased the day of the class.

Friday, February 22 – Learn to Knit for Kids 2-3:30 PM
This class is meant for kids ages 6-12. We will have adult volunteers so that kids have plenty of help. Learn to cast on, knit, purl, and cast off, as time allows. Kids need straight needles (size US 7 or US 8) and worsted weight yarn. Sibling discount – first kid $12 and each additional kid is $10. Class limit is 8 kids. Please call or come to the shop to register ahead of time. Due to the need to coordinate with volunteers, participants must register by Wednesday, Feb 20, 4 pm.
Sunday, February 24th—Crocheting Workshop: Beyond the Basics—Crochet Cable Owl 1-3 PM
Join Ruth Stoneman to increase your crocheting knowledge and learn to cable on a hook to create this owl! Click on the event photo to see the entire adorable owl shape. Participants will need approximately 80 yards of worsted weight yarn and a suitable crochet hook for that yarn. Cost for class is $25 and includes the pattern.

Join Stephanie to learn to create with two sticks and some string! This class is for complete newbies to knitting. Participants will learn to cast on, knit and purl, as well as garter stitch, stockinette stitch, and ribbing as time allows. Participants are also welcome to bring a basic pattern to begin during the class. The cost will be $20 per person. Participants will receive 10% off supplies purchased the day of the class.

Thursday, February 28th—Holiday Gift Club 6-8 PM
Join us each month of the year to get your holiday knitting and crocheting on track! Each month we will feature a different pattern for a small project, or you can work on another project of your choice. By December, you will have a stash of gifts ready to give!
