In this class, knitters will learn crochet basics to enhance their knitting. The class will begin with students learning to chain and to single crochet. Ruth will then introduce you to a crocheted provisional cast-on, crocheted edging, using crochet to join seams, crocheting a button band, and crocheting a circle to begin knitting in the round. If time allows, students will also learn how to crochet a flower to applique onto their knitting. Participants will need to bring a square (at least 4"x 4") knit in seed stitch (K1,P1 on the first row; on the second row knit the purl stitches and purl the knit stitches) in a worsted weight yarn, a ball of worsted weight yarn in a contrasting color to their square, a size H crochet hook, and US size 8 DPNs or 16" circular needle.
