Knit a Gansey Sweater

Sundays, 3-4:30 pm, 5 sessions beginning 9/28

Join Ellen to knit a gansey sweater. A gansey, or guernsey, is a textured sweater originally made for sailors in the Channel Island region. For this class, participants will be knitting the Maya Pullover by SchlicksKnits. This class will be taught over five Sunday sessions: September 28th, October 5th, October 12th, October 26th, and November 9th. Those interested in taking this class should be comfortable knitting and purling in the round. Please note, participants will need to come to the first class with the purchased pattern and a 6"x6" gauge swatch in their chosen yarn that has been knit and blocked, with the stitch counts recorded both before and after blocking. Those interested in taking the class are strongly encouraged to come to the shop by September 15th to make color selections so we can order larger quantities if needed. We will offer a 10% discount on the yarn purchased for this class. Preregistration is required; we need a minimum of 2 students to run this class, so consider registering with a friend!
