Getting Help with Projects

One of the best things about being part of a local yarn shop community is the ability to get help with your projects. At Green Mountain Yarn & Fiber there are a few avenues for getting help, depending on a few factors.

Option 1: When you have a question that Amanda or Stephanie can answer from behind the counter in just a couple of minutes, they will be happy to provide answers. This type of help is free to all customers who purchase yarn in our shop, and is provided without an appointment as long as the shop isn't busy. So, you might have to wait a few minutes or endure an interruption.

Option 2: Also free - come to sit-n-knit on Sundays. Although it's not a guarantee, there are people with a range of abilities and experience who attend, many of whom are more than willing to help someone else out. It's a friendly and welcoming group (so you should come even if you don't need help!) and you might find someone there who can help out.

Option 3: You can book a private lesson. This requires that you schedule in advance, as the shop is generally only staffed by one person. If you are paying for a private lesson, we'd like to give you our full attention and not be distracted by shop business, so we need to schedule a lesson on a day we can both be here. Lessons can be as short as 15 minutes and as long as an hour.

We now have an exciting fourth option available! Option 4 is "Cindi's Lifelines". (Cindi would like you to know that she hasn't used a lifeline, but we still like the ring to it.) If you have a problem in your knitting, or you have reached some part of your knitting that has you stumped, you can book a session with Cindi to help you. Not sure if you resolved your short rows correctly? Dropped a stitch and don't know how to pick it up? Maybe you can tell you made a mistake but don't know what it was. Cindi can help with all of these things. (The "Fixing Mistakes" class can also help, but one thing at a time...). Cindi is especially interested in helping people complete projects, so if yours has been hibernating and you're lost, we bet she can help you carry on.

Cindi's Lifelines are offered in 15 minute increments on Friday afternoons (depending on availability). The rate is $10 per 15 minute session, and you can book multiple sessions if necessary. If you would like to set up a help session, please email or call the shop to set up a time.
