Plying Your Handspun Yarn

You’ve mastered spinning consistent singles and now want to create yarn beyond a standard 2- ply. In this class you will learn how to manage plying with 2 or more singles, then move into spinning designer yarns such as cable, crepe, bouclé and various textured yarns. Other plying methods such as Navajo and Andean plying will be demonstrated. This class is for intermediate and advanced spinners with their own wheels. Other equipment required will be 3 to 6 bobbins, a lazy kate or other bobbin holder not attached to the spinning wheel, and storage bobbins. Optional equipment: niddy noddy, skein winder. Extra fiber will be provided but feel free to bring your own. Students will need to come to class with three bobbins (half full); two bobbins spun Z and one bobbin spun S. Please note, there is a minimum of 3 people to run this class, so consider registering with a friend (or 2); there is a maximum of 6.
