Yes, you can spin your own yarn! In this two part workshop with Susan Snider, we will learn why wool spins, how to prepare wool fiber for spinning, and various drafting techniques. In part one, we will use a drop spindle to learn how to handle the fiber. In part two, we will take those skills to the spinning wheel and explore how to create the yarn you imagine. Spinning wheels will be provided for you to use during the class, or you can bring your own. The fee for the class is includes use of a spinning wheel, fiber, and a drop spindle to take home. Preregistration is required. There is a minimum of 2 participants, and a maximum 6. Please note, we offer this class just twice per year, once in the fall and once in the spring. Therefore, we encourage you to register if you are interested.
